Alaska’s Letter to USTR Triggered by “Tremendous Uncertainty” in New China Tariffs Increase to 25%
Tracking the developments on the tariff war with China is challenging, but Alaska’s Congressional delegation was paying attention on May 10, when the U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer announced tariffs on products from China were increasing from 10% to 25%.
Apparently, the new list of products included Alaska seafood that had been granted exemptions last year. It also reinstated a mistake exempting “Alaska pollock” on the Harmonized Code list that is really "predominantly" Russian product.
