Sea Shepherd Files Lawsuit After NFMS Rejects Petition to Ban Seafood Imports from New Zealand

It’s been almost a year since the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) rejected Sea Shepherd’s petition to ban seafood imports from New Zealand. Now the conservation organization is taking action. Sea Shepherd Legal and its co-counsel, Earthwise Law Center, have filed a lawsuit against a number of U.S. Agencies.

In February 2019 Sea Shepherd “formally demanded” that the Trump Administration ban all imports from New Zealand fisheries that are driving the Māui dolphin to extinction...
