Brrrr! Charleston Ice Plant Starts Serving Commercial Vessels; Some Dock Work Still on Tap

Roughly nine months after a devastating fire, the Charleston Ice Plant is open for business.

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay said the plant started serving commercial vessels on Sept. 12. Port crews are awaiting the arrival of additional components for the service delivery system to accommodate smaller vessels, so only commercial vessels are being allowed at the plant right now, the Port said in a recent report.
